emg. hz and actives

Do the emg actives and passives sound alike? or are they a world apart?
for example an 81 vs HZ-H4

Well, you could look at it this way....

Actives and passives are using different platforms in order to receive microphonic vibrations from the strings. I don't see how they really could sound too much alike....

Yeah, I am the EMG guy.... but I don't really have much experience with the passive EMG line. Maybe I should get a set and put them in one of my guitars.

Have you ever watched a YouTube video that includes someone playing guitar...yeah. The quality sucks, and you can't hear crap.
