Most of my work is done through email. Some through the phone but to be honest I will often just ignore the phone since if I am in the middle of a task. So email is just a better fits, since I can read and respond at my convenience. I get 80-120 emails a day, and probably send that many in return.

So for personal correspondance, email or phone. But to be honest I get burned out on both and sometimes I just want time to myself or face to face.

My blackberry gives me 24/7 phone/email access, but I don't have to leverage that.

I hate texting. Yet I do it all the time just because with some people, it's the only way I get to have much of a conversation outside of personal contact.

I can't stand texting... seems like the only thing I'd ever really find it good for is when somebody needs something that is listed by part number, or for other lists of that sort. Very short communications, too, I guess... very short.

I do a lot of emailing. I do a lot of yakking on the phone.

Last letter I got in snail mail was from Bildozer, when he was in basic training.

Facebook.

If you send somebody a private message, not only does it go directly to their account, but to their mobile phone also, and a copy is sent to their email.

So, you kill more than 2 birds with 1 stone.:thumb:

When that fails, email is still good, and texting is usefull if you live in a place with crappy reception.

It depends. Business, call or email. Friend, call, text, or facebook. Family, call or text.

My last written, stamped, letter was sent in late 1970 just before I got out of the Army. After that I used pyhsical mail only for paying bills.

Email I rarely use these days, mainly for sending large files, pictures, or for contacting friends and family who are far away.

I prefer face to face communication when possible, both for business and personal communication.

Second choice is a phone conversation.

But there are times when text is a better choice because some people can't readily answer a phone call while at work for example.

So yes, I do use texting. But not a lot, and it's always kept short and to the point on both ends - in other words, not for idle chatting sort of stuff.

I don't have a "smart" phone either, I use one of those clamshell folding phones - it's probably considered "vintage" by now :D

Does anyone email anymore? Or does everyone text or just talk on the phone?

I guess I'm a dinosaur or something because I like email, it's free. I've never been much for chatting on the phone, and to me texting is pretty annoying trying to type on a little phone keyboard. I have no interest in buying an Iphone and paying for apps or whatever.

What is your preferred means of communication?

face to face, email second.dont own a cell phone and if i had one i wouldnt bother texting.
