Last night I posted a thread about finding an eBay auction by KITTYROCK123 that was using a picture of MY guitar to sell his fakes. I guess a mod felt the swearing was excessive (I was rightfully pissed off) and pulled the thread. Anyway, I figure this is important enough info to get out to you guys, so here it is again.

Auctions in question:

Auction #1

Auction #2

The picture I posted here on this board:

xmas07rk5.jpg

I encourage everyone who has posted pictures on this board to check out KITTYROCK123's other auctions to see if he's lifting any other members' pictures...

The idiot's eBay page

...and to search for your model of Les Paul on eBay to see if anyone else is using YOUR guitar to swindle unsuspecting buyers.

----------------

It's been about 10 hours since I sent a complaint to eBay and the site hasn't taken any action nor replied to me. How long does this usually take?

You rock Benniator !!!
Keep doin what your doin! I didnt know there were so many scammers out there and I guess I am too naive to believe Ebay would do something about it,. Maybe when members here post pictures of there axes we should have some MLP watermark that we can put on them so they cant be reproduced. Just a thought.

I figure that's what I'm going to start doing if I ever post any pics here again.

a watermark is an excellent idea, but maybe each individual should watermark their own pics.

alt+0169 will get you the circle c

That blows man. Did you look at his prices? If he is selling the real deal, those are a steal! Since he stole your pic, I guarantee he is selling fakes.

I was holding off doing that because I wanted eBay to catch him in the act. Nothing will be done to him if he just takes down the photos on his own. Well, that reason and the fact the only message I could think of sending him would have been an expletive-laced tirade.

God damn it. The auctions are still active and two people have purchased guitars today. Since it's a private auction I can't contact the bidders to tell them that they've been scammed. Why haven't the items been pulled? What the hell is eBay waiting for?

Clearly they don't care. They don't have to care since they are not responsible for their site in an manner that would lead them to litigation.
It goes with having no competitor. We brought them to where they are and now see what we have wrought?
This is not a good thing such outright deception.

I had already reported him, they have to investigate it first, but I did send a link to your pic, guess its just a matter of time...
They took their time with the last guy and he still sold his guitars anyway.

This message was sent while the listing was active.kittyrock123 is a seller.

Clearly he has no guitar to sell since I assumed in my email to him that he didnt and no mention of it here, and also has no intent to get rid of those pics.

That's lame.. That really sucks for people that bought them because they probably will never find out that they got jipped.
