Drummers are loud now a days because of drummers like John Bonham and Kieth Moon. They banged the shit out of their drums!

A good drummer keeps it on the floor. The less cymbal work the better except for driving a lead break with the bell of a ride.

scousers = will nick your drums

There are a lot of places in Yorkshire where the crime rate is higher than Liverpool. Leeds is, I believe, one of those places.

Not gonna mock you or anything, but seriously..... Come on now.... Ever gotten into it? I mean, when you're reeeeally feeling it? We hit those strings hard and nothing much happens, it's up to the amp but when it comes to drumming, hey, there's no amp there to save the day.

So, you're asking a drummer not to feel anything, not to be human.

I understand Jazz drummers playing quieter, it's a different type of music.... But some of those blues powerhouse songs, man, if you don't really dive into the music your playing's gonna suck!

I say thank God there's people with passion, feel and guts to play their hearts out. And I also thank God for loud amps, or we wouldn't be here!

Play loud, let it rip, you only live once... and it helps with stress, just like any other medication it comes with side effects. :D

In a way, this is like asking a person to say "Oh Goodness" when they hit a finger with a hammer.... HUMAN EMOTION.. that's what this is really about.

god forbid someone plays their instrument like they mean it!

j-man, how many bands have you been in? i've been in three, but i've also been in band classes for a quite a while now, and i can tell you, that the only time a drummer can play too loud, is in a small room, or when horns can't keep up.

The drummer needs to play to the energy the song demands if that means loud so be it. Nothing sucks more than a pussy drummer on a otherwise rocking tune.
