I saw this band somewhere and they list their influences. Do some of these bands seem douchey?

Alter Bridge
Avenged Sevenfold
Breaking Benjamin
Chevelle
Dream Theater
A Day To Remember
The Dillinger Escape Plan
Kings of Leon
Periphery
Red Hot Chilli Peppers
Vildhjarta
Weezer

Never heard of some of these bands. Seems like a pretty diverse list too.:hmm:

I concur. Cant wait for their new album this fall.
Last I heard was Vena Sera, which I have(and love). The bonus song was the first song I ever learned pretty much all the way through on guitar, 'cause it was so easy! :laugh2:

(plus I'd only been playing a couple months :))

Are they going heavier or more ambient with their new album? I'd personally prefer more ambient, but it'll still likely be good.

PS- Sorry for not contributing to your thread, but uh, I'm not good with stuff like this.

I know theyre using some new tunings. The drummer actually has a four piece drum set this album. I heard some of it. Sounds awesome.

FWIW? And Dream Theater is kickass too. I'm happy with Mangini in the band.

I LOVE drummers that use small kits. My best friend is just like that. A couple toms, a couple cymbals, a bass and a snare. It's simplistic, and he rocks harder than any of the metal drummers with 355 toms and cymbals around.

The only bands that I'd call douchey are "Cock-Rock" bands. They only write songs about bangin.

Back in the day they were more creative with these types of lyrics. Today we've seen a severe drop in intelligence by lyricists.

You're from Orlando, I'm sure you've listened to wjrr..

Definitely. Once in a while they'll play Deftones or SOAD or something good. Then they ruin it with the Sick Puppies, Puddle of Mudd, Nickelback, etc. I hate it.

Weezer isn't at all. As much as I like them, RCHP and KOL are very douchey. Dream Theater is sort of douchey as well.

Yeah most of the time they'll play something decent but when they play something stupid I change the station immediately.

Sick Puppies was cool there first album. Since then I've not been impressed.

I don't really think any of those bands would qualify as douchey. I can't really think of any bands off the top of my head that really are. Maybe the new GnR because of Axl. And of course the Jonas Brothers and Bieber.

Just out of curiosity, what band lists those as their influence?
