Looks better with the pick / scratch (pond location) guard ON, bolted up, attached, AS the factory built it, the way Jimmy Page had it!!!!!!!!!!!! If it was better w/o it why did they make it? DAH
Yeah Yeah I know that they sound better w/o one but Im VAIN and just gotta look good, playing in front of the turned off TV!

Tone is over rated, especially when Im playin!

Don't they make the PG's outta the same stuff as the little uhm??/TIPS? (not sure what they are called?:laugh2:) on the ends of the frets? They look great too. To bad Epi don't have em!

Maybe melt down a PG and mold up some of them??/tips, nips, nubs?

PS right now its 5 for and 5 again!! This is gonna be a barn burner!!! YeHA
I'm dyin ovah heah! :laugh2:

Epison, consider this an initiation ceremony - sit back and enjoy.

The only Les Paul's that should have a pick-guard are Gold Tops. They shouldn't even make them for the rest.

See how much nicer the GT looks with it one and the HC with it off? You do what you want bro. You wont hurt your guitar with it off so you don't need to worry about that.

Don't worry about the thread. Take your beating and move on. Soon you to will be flaming kids who post pick-guard threads like the rest of us. Hey, I did it to. Its like the MLPF right of passage.

:hmm: How about one of those people who think there are rules about it makes a sticky and people can just check there to see if they're in compliance. "Game over!"

I rest my fingers on the bridge pickup ring when picking.

That's a matter of habit. Some songs I play w/out pick, just fingers, so it becomes even more necessery for me to have the PG to rest the fingers I'm not using...

Thank you. That's what they're for. I can't find the thread that has pictures of what happens over time, but it happens and it's not pretty. Of course, if you're not playing it, just looking at it... rip it off and stare at the flame. Whatever works.
