The Everly Brothers were my late older sisters favorite singer/musicians and Don was her favorite of the two. They were incredible and had a major influence on some of the best musicians to follow.

The word “influencer” doesn’t begin to describe what they did for RnR.

They were the source of all pop - and made everyone from John and Paul forward want to start a group and harmonize.

A couple of kids from rural Ky finding musical fame - a true American success story. They were raised in a very musical family - but like most kids from the poor rural areas - never dreamed of the success they would one day find.

I don't say this with any disrespect, but it seems like they're dropping like flies. Every couple three days there's another RIP.

The rockers born during and shortly after WWII are checking out with alarming frequency.

Pretty soon we'll be seeing thread titles like Jimmy Page RIP, Eric Clapton RIP, Steve Miller RIP.

Time is catching up.

They certainly still had it in 1984.

They wrote some great classics
The first 2 albums I every bought were both Everly Brothers albums. They inspired the some of the greats (like the Beatles) for sure.

But as for writing those songs - that would be Felice & Boudleaux Bryant

All I have to do is Dream
Bird Dog
Bye Bye Love
Wake up Little Susie
Devoted to You
Like Strangers
Take a Message to Mary
Problems
Poor Jenny
Love Hurts
