'Nuff said.

NOT REALLY! :laugh2: That is an AMERICAN MADE Epiphone Casino - made in Kalamazoo BY GIBSON - and is basically a Gibson ES330 with an Epiphone headstock. That guitar has NO CONNECTION with the Epiphone guitars of today.

Nice try, though. ;)

Well, yes it does. They still make ($3,000) Epis in Gibson factories.

Well yes, River - and they have also done Gibson USA made Epiphone Casino (Lenon) reissues recently as well - but saying "well, John Lennon played an Epi - that means they're good enough for anyone" as a way of exalting a Korean or Chinese Epiphone is silly.

I have an Epiphone Casino myself - it is Korean. I like it. I don't feel the need to draw a spurious correlation between it and John Lennon to prove its "worth" though - as there is really no connection to be had between vintage American stuff and modern Asian models. ;)

this other guy is really good too and is proud to have an epi, in fact his first videos were done with a lp special II and sounded really good.

I knew what you meant. Just wanna see you dot your Is and cross your Ts.

"spurious correlation" - you've obviously been paying attention in school. :)

Dick.

Why do you guys give a flying fork what the YouTube copy-cats use? Their only accomplishment in life is getting people like you to pay attention to them.

I'm proud of ya, man. Precious few people know "spurious", much less in conjunction with "correlation".

Most common reaction is "Yeah, man, cool... Wait. What?! Hey, you be dissin' me?!".

My favorite spurious relationship is the correlation between coffee drinking and heart disease. It is there, honest. The confounding variable is smoking cigarettes. Coffee drinkers are more likely to smoke, and smoking is a factor leading to heart disease - therefore there is a spurious relationship which could be construed to show that coffee drinking leads to heart disease.

Thats about all I got. That and a BA Diploma. :laugh2:

Spurious Connection: Ice Cream and drowning. In the summer months Ice Cream consumption goes up as do the amount of drownings across the country.

I once saw statistics that showed that in July in a particular state Ice Cream consumption was at the highest. The next month drownings were at their highest.

Obviously, Ice Cream is a slow killer and it makes it's move when you're in water...

I'm gonna jump in with the (probably unpopular) comment that this guys playing stinks and note for note covering of songs of this type can be performed by a trained monkey.

therefore......

The official line on this whole thread is.......

It really doesn't matter what kind of guitar that kid plays.

Kobibas guitar is an epiphone.
In this video around 0:18 you can clearly see the truss road cover has three screws and a gibson has just two.
