When Top Gun came out, I was in a relationship with an absolute nympho who's dad had been a USN fighter pilot, before meeting his demise, over the Gulf of Tonkin. It was a very intense relationship. The music on the radio was all "Highway to the Danger Zone" and "Holding Back the Years" (Simply Red), "Boys Don't Cry," "Who Made Who" and "Sledgehammer." We had a blast that summer in Potomac, MD and Boston. I don't remember if we even went to that movie together (I don't even recall going to the theater to see that movie), but the movie and music remind me of her. Those were good times.

I’ll definitely go see it, Tom is a bit of a tool but he makes good movies. The first top gun was good

- Drones have taken over, but can't get the job done
- Older experienced pilots are pressed into action, because the young'uns are too dependent on the electronics.
- Geezer former Top Gun saves the day.
- {{side romantic plot that doesn't serve the movie at all, other than reason to get women to go see the movie}}
