Many fear change. Many fear derision.Fear is worse than neer beer. Guitarists get STUCK, I did WAY back in 1980 when I started "hacking,"

"Dad, I need a Les Paul,Jimmy plays one."

I got a 18 lb Hondo2 -crap players can't be choosers.

I played SG+Les Pauls EXlusively for 15 years. Then dcs,Strats,Teles.........................................

I still viewed offsets as "toy" guitars.

Last year my GC got a Blacktop Jazz w/bucker in bridge. Didn't bond. I traded it for a Mascis Squire that I did bond with

I'm now sold. Willl I buy another Jazz? No, like a Strat, one is enough for me,now, a Marr?

So,in closing. STOP! Do you need another Les Paul? Even creamy mids get boring. Go buy a CRAP offset. You may be surprised.

"Dang this $385 guitar sounds too good..........maybe I should put those bumblebees on hold?

Good article-funny thing is- only posers use the word poser.

wellllllllll..................

You may yet need another jazzy. The JMJM is a tasty guitar, but one must be honest with one's self and admit that it has P90 pickups in it rather than the flat, thin, and wiiiiiiide single coils with magnetized pole pieces that Saint Leonidas prophesied. While in truth this isn't quite heresy, it is however different. One should at least spend some time with the pure, true, jazzmaster pickups as designed by the Prophet and his minions before commiting a lifetime of abominations. Which is fine, abomination is what rock n roll is for. But one should know both paths before saying "i don't need another geetar".

A Jag? Of course one "needs" a jaguar. A Marrguar is worthy in every sense. You NEEEEEEEED a Marrguar. One in Metallic Kandy Orange...

It even came in your favorite color for a number of years.

Hipsters, not Posers.

That guitar is like the de-facto standard Indie Rock guitar for Hipsters.

don't forget the looping pedal and the Apple laptop.
M, I have the looper , not the apple. I never worry who is a "cheese" player - I encourage all- I know what I got-ENDLESS ORIGINAL TALENT! Posers? Hipsters? Quipsters? Just "kids" that lack charisma. Only boat I jump onto is the FEZZboat. Grow your wispy beards+wear your sailor pants........I just smile. Good to be CHAMP! Will the JAXZZ withstand a FEZZgig? That is the test-I believe it will come out very bloody ,but, in tune.

hey now.

I've got a couple pair of Cracker Jack 13-button woolies. They're great when it's cold and damp out here in the PNW. Haven't seen any hipsters wearing them, they all wear those uber dark denim jeans from the Nordstrom Rack...

if a JMJM can make it through a Dinosaur Jr. gig, it'll be just fine with a Fezzshow. Play it, it'll be just fine.

They do make some killer sounds, and the vibrato systems have an awesome sweep. I was obsessed with Jaguars, Jazzmasters, and Mustangs in my teens and well into my 20s. I tried getting back into them a couple years ago with a ‘65 reissue Mustang and Jag.

But I came to really dislike the extra string length of the Jag and JM. And the big (often heavy) bodies.

I might put together a Mustang some day. It’d need to have front and back contours, a 1” thick neck, no slide switches, and a 3 way toggle.

Love me some offsets:

I'd definitely take a Jag and this kind of music than 80s shred or generic blues rock. Kevin Shields is GOD.

c, believe it or not I'm a SH@t cover man-hey, we all have our heal- but, I did learn this in 5 minutes! Then again, most of my songs only take 5 minutes to write-bridge included-so-5 minutes seems like a lifetime........

When I move from acoustic to electric, my first "real" guitar was an old beat up Jaguar. Probably worth quite a bit today, should have kept it.
