So, I'm building a Flying V. I bought a body that was already cut and routed for the pickups and neck pocket.
My question concerns the distance between the bridge and the bridge pickup.
I'm using a 24 fret neck , 25.5" scale, and a Gibson Tune_o_matic bridge. This will place the bridge about 1/8 inch from the pick up. Is this too close?
If so, the neck is a strat style sqaure heel with about 1/8 inch overhang on the fretboard. Can I simply remove about 1/8" or so from the end of the heel (creating a1/4" overhang) and then slide the bridge back an equal distance? Thereby keeping the required measurement from the bridge to the nut.
Thanks in advance for any insight.
