Is anyone else disappointed with all the Gary Moore sigs? They all seem cheap and overpriced. We all know Gary Moore is a great player but where's the decent sig he deserves?

His first sig seemed like an expensive studio, no binding and a $1900 price tag...
GIBSON GARY MOORE SIGNATURE LES PAUL GUITAR! - eBay (item 130277898186 end time Jan-25-09 17:23:04 PST)

His second, the BFG is just as bad, a huge price hike from the original BFG and the only difference is cosmetics.

Why does that guitar have a pickguard? Did the signatures come with one? I'm pretty sure Gary's doesn't have one.

I think the original owner had a pickguard that was signed by Gary and put in on the guitar, then it wore off the sig.

I have always thought they looked like a studio because of the lack of binding.

I purchased one this weekend at the Orlando Guitar Expo... I LOVE IT! Mine has a rare reversed flame, and sounds f***ing great! I love the 59 style neck too. The GM model comes with a pick guard with Gary's sig on it,but it's not mounted. Why would anyone drill into the top of a Les Paul? Especially a guitar with flames like the GM model. Why does Gibson drill into any LP for that matter... I never did get that?
No binding...:hmm: Who cares? This is a players guitar. Collector geeks be damned!!!

yeah.......

Sigs.... id buy a guitar you fall in love with. if a sig model plays like a demon and does it for you, get it. if not, why bother? just to own a Sig?

if it seems overproced to you, it is, if its the second coming to you, it is.......

I have not been disappointed with the tone of my Gary Moore "sig" collector's edition. However, the frets are way too low and I will be having them changed out. A shame given the price but the guitar is very light (very) and has stunning good tone through a hand wired Marshall. I have played so many LP's that sounded like they were made out of cement. When you find one with the magic tone (guitar > cable > amp), it is worth the bread in my view but you can't be afraid to alter them a tad to get them just right as they all come off an assembly line. I don't care about resale, or signatures, world peace/hunger, or people who can't understand that a PRS sounds like crap. I care about wet panties, dry whiskey glasses, and scaring the gods.

A mate has a GM sig (the first one). Great guitar that sounds so great. They do make a dead to nuts replica of Greenie's guitar now - it's $12K.
