You're missing my point. I'm only talking about standards not reissues, deluxes, customs, etc.

What do you think the Gibson Historic reissues like the R8, R9, R0, etc.. are? They are reproductions of the USA Les Paul Standards from those years.

Maybe Fender is doing the same thing since they have reissues for those that want reproductions of certain years models.

No thanks on either. The Standard has been turned into a piece of crap. Traditionals are where it's at.

Your missing the point. The Les Paul Standard has always been in a constant state of change. Neck profile, pickups, neck tenon, build style and weight relief method have always changed either year to year, or every few years. The guitar that YOU think should be the "Standard" already exits as the the Traditional. It was even called the "Standard Traditional" when it first came out, but Gibson dropped Standard from the name probably because of the confusion it generated. Get over it already.
