Back in '95 I was stationed in South Korea and had just met my soon to be wife who had just arrived in South Korea. I was trying to think of something for us to do for our first date besides going downtown and drinking.
Anyway, Paul Revere and the Raiders were playing a USO show at the NCO club that night. I was only in my early 20's but I was familiar with the Raiders from my parents and godparents records. My wife had no idea who they were but I told her it would be fun. I told her to call her folks and ask them who they were:laugh2:

I don't know which members were playing that night but it was a great show and my wife had a great time. We were married a year later and are still going strong. :thumb:

AND... the DC5 / The Dave Clark Five...! They were the loudest live band until The Who hit it big...

Heres some with the late Mike Smith who passed last year...

Love the Raiders and I am a HUGE Drake Levin fan! I contributed most of the commentary that Blind Willie posted from Wikipedia above. I even made a little Youtube tribute to Drake. Drake's widow, Sandra, and his family saw it and loved it so much, Sandra included it on Drake's memorial website. drakelevin.com She is a very dear lady and I was very honored.

He had a very unique sense of rhythm that worked within a song but is sort of difficult to copy beat for beat. While he was really just a kid when in the Raiders, he turned into an absolute blazing rhythm and blues guitarist when he grew up. He was a cool dude.
