In my town (the location of the first, original Del Taco, BTW), a Taco Bell opened a few weeks ago.

So there was a wrap-around line all damn day for quite a few days.

Then it dropped off to merely "brisk" business.

Now it's a damn ghost-town. there might as well be tumbleweeds rolling through. Not a soul to be found.

It’s a weird name for a new scientific veggie burger. Scientists (possibly Russian under contract from a certain small country) isolated the flavonoid profile of ground beef and replicated it using vegetables.

They also developed a vegetarian patty that very closely resembles the texture of grilled ground beef using more science.

The result is a veggie burger that tastes like a B grade beef burger.


They’re not bad, but they’re expensive and not quite as good. I’m not racist against food so I’ll eat a veggie burger if that’s what’s on the table, that said I’d actually prefer a black been and beet veggie patty if I’m not getting meat.

Those aren’t trying to pull off some kind of elaborate flavor scam, they don’t “taste like” a burger, but they’re still good.
