It was auctioned off about 15 years ago for $11K...

Here's the summary...
A customized Gibson SG electric guitar, Serial Number 358106, chrome Gotoh tuning heads, 22 fret fingerboard with mother of pearl inlays, Gibson logo inlayed to head, two pickups, four rotary controls, Bigsby bridge, featuring a heavily carved body and customized pickguard, together with hard shell case. Owned and played by David Cassidy worldwide during various concert performances and appearances with the Partridge Family during the 1970s. It was originally custom created for guitarist Louise Shelton, who sold the guitar to Cassidy in 1970.
Previously displayed at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Thanks - had no idea it was carved!
Looks uncomfortable to play, and also like it was sandblasted, as on the book cover it looks like a cherry finish.

There was a guy (I believe in L.A.) who carved guitars like that.
Mike Deasy (studio player) had one.

It's got a naked babe with a stag looking over her shoulder. Any amateur Freudians care to speculate?

Did anyone see that recent documentary about Cassidy? It was incredibly sad.
