I always feel a little sick when I first ding a good condition one, so please accept my heartfelt commiserations!

I guess your other option to having it repaired is to ‘lean into’ the chip out the finish by allowing the guitar to accumulate more dings and scratches until it looks so characterful that you don’t even notice this one anymore...

I cringe, but also breath a sigh of relief, when this happens to a nice guitar of mine. The first "ding" is done, so then I can just enjoy the guitar and not worry about any future stuff.

I seriously doubt you can personally fix it. To repair that so it matches the rest of the finish is a very costly process.

I seriously doubt I can fix this! In fact the truth is that I would make it worse!

It's not that bad, there must have been larger chunks taken out of some famous guitars. Beano Burst probably had more missing after Eric burnt through some of it with his cigarettes.
