No I've never been, I had the chance in the late 1980's to go with some friends, One of them had dropped out & the boat & hotel had been paid for but I couldn't get time off work I used to see a lot of bikers from Europe on the UK motorway network making their way to catch the IOM ferries at Liverpool. Everyone who has been says it's a fantastic weekend & the atmosphere is brilliant.
Apparently, there is going to be new Road Race event on the Isle of Wight in 2021. (COVID permitting). Should be interesting. There are some great roads on the IOW.
This thread reminds me of something Mario Andretti said in an interview, after the interviewer commented that Mario certainly "had things under control" out there...
Andretti laughed and replied, "Maybe it looks that way to you, but it wasn't like that for me!"
The interviewer asked him to expand on this thought. Andretti smiled and said, "If everything seems like it's under control, you're not going fast enough!"
