Hi there - long time, no see!

I am currently doing a lot of design work for my upcoming builds.
The Stop-Tailpiece is what caught my attention recently.

Having seen a lot of beautiful guitars around here, I noticed a custom tailpieces appear every now and then.
Roman, for instance, uses a custom TP on his Workhorse...

Do you guys have any idea who could manufacture a custom TP for me?
I figured there may be people out there, who actually make a living on producing smaller series of metalwork...
I have already contacted a local CNC company, but their prices are not affordable (unless you have > 1000 pieces to build)...

What is the preferred material? - I hear mixed things about aluminium (little weight, vibration-sucker), steel, etc.
What is considered a fair price for a custom TP?

Thanks for your input!
-Tom

PS: The attachment holds a little teaser pic from my latest adventure... :)

Thanks!
I've seen ihavenofish's thread before.
So far, I've been under the impression that he is manufacturing his hardware only...
Maybe he has time to join the thread... -> PM

@SGLou
I figured you'd like this particular SG...
She's already out of my shop, but I have more pictures. :)

i "want" to manufacture my hardware designs only, but aparently noone wants to order them, they just want custom one offs. haha.

right now im swamped, i have 2 one off bridges that need finishing, a whole one off guitar, and a non guitar related project going on kickstarter next week, not to mention my regular job. oof.

ones offs can be quite pricey (from me or anyone else). a tail piece with no contouring, like rist's, in aluminium would not be too bad, ones like DGN's 9 string are brutal. that one also had custom studs and inserts. if you orders several at a time, the adventure changes alot however.

Not a "one-off" but Jason Schroeder sells his "boattail" as a TP. At least it is an attractive alternative to the standard.

Yeah - the Schroeders look allright.
I would like to have something more streamlined, yet not simplistic...

I get your point...
I have one big OFF lying around - my PU winder.

Roman's TP is an inspiration to me.
Specifically that it is not a straight bar, but somewhat round.

What kind of materials would you use? - Steel?

Cheers,
-Tom
