Woke up this morning with old kitchen countertops. Going to bed with new kitchen countertops. Them dudes didn’t play. View attachment 653209 View attachment 653210

Lazy Susan is really convenient, but that's still a lot of wasted space.
My kitchen is tight, and I've been debating what to do with a similar corner that is currently 100% dead space.
No idea WHY in an 8ft x 10ft kitchen the designer would put drawers between the sink and a corner, and put a trash compactor on the other side of the corner, rendering the entire 2x2 corner dead.

So if I ever do rebuild my cabinets, I'm starting to think that my most preferred option will be a 4ft wide "blind corner" cabinet... and then put a door on the back side by the sliding glass door... makes 100% use of the space AND allows for full access without reaching into a blind corner.

You have more cabinet space than I do just between your sink and stove.

This is what I have no. Drawers between the stove and DW, and to the left of the sink.
One double cabinet on the peninsula (and a trash compactor).
Cabinets above the peninsula are about 12x18 and she can't reach them, even though they're on a soffit.

This was one of my earlier ideas.
Replace the peninsula overhead cabinets with a hanging pot rack, put a 30" corner cabinet on the wall, and move the end of the peninsula back to provide more room to maneuver in front of the laundry.

But now I think it would be better to keep a row of drawers next to the sink, and go with a double-opening cabinet on the corner.
Also, building it myself will allow me to slightly narrow the peninsula from the usual 24" down to 20" or so to allow some overhang on the back, and I could also put a proper toe-kick all the way around.

I run my guitars into my Marshall DSL40C with a few dirt and fuzz pedals in front of it. The amp usually stays on the red channel with the push-button out. Gain level stays between 4 and 8. Sometimes, I go to 3 if I want to clean it up. I like to throw the dirt and fuzz pedals on top of all the gain. I like heavy, aggressive gain. You can get it really tight if you're OCD with all the EQ though.

Note: current settings are not depicted.
