Are you going to water seal the fence?

When I bought my house, the deck was never water sealed, ever.

The entire thing needs to be replaced (eventually).
No water sealing here. The cedar boards turn gray after a couple of years, but I can get them back to new looking with a power wash.
We don't get enough wet weather to worry about sealing them

Ours are cedar too. They still don't last forever. I like the grey look too. Mine is going on ten yrs old. I replace some pickets every now and again. But the dog has knocked a few on this short side out the 2x4 is holding nails anymore.

Here's what I got up about 3 years ago - nicely grayed out. The original fence had the boards falling out. I reinforced the top of the fence where it was bowing. Then nailed the new planks to the top and bottom rails.
The gate needed a little more - Gordon had managed to break through the boards, so I put up a 5/8 plywood panel and then the cedar planks over that
