Why is it that whenever someone voices a conservative opinion that the left leaners come out swinging with group shaming and scarlet letters?

Here's the problem. People get fired up because they've seen a pattern of "issues" becoming "laws". Perhaps what you feel is bloviating is important to others and they'd like to argue now, before it becomes a knee jerk law to satisfy the facebook nation of victims and mothers.

Anyone who doesn't believe that some sort of legislation is coming is sadly misinformed. Don't you know tha bloomberg is smarter than you and knows what's best for you? Just look what he did to soda. Didn't that start as an awareness campaign?

I'm not sure what omnipresence you have to asess my entire life of 50+ years and come to that conclusion. However, I’ll admit i’m married, and therefore some amount of being told " every little thing you need to do” is inevitable.

Beyond that, maybe you could consider that the reason "people aren't getting it" could be the weakness of the argument, rather than the failure to repeat it just one more time?

I'm not sure the strength or weakness of the argument is the problem. There are people that are so firmly attached to their ideology that no argument can move them. It would appear that there are many people like that on MLP.
