[FONT=&quot]It is hard to empathize with addicts who don’t get help. The problem is that being an addict and taking proactive steps to help oneself are generally mutually exclusive. Some addicts find salvation of one sort or another after hitting rock bottom. Unfortunately for some like Courtney, there is no depth deep enough to be the bottom, short of death. While she is detestable, it’s hard to feel anything but pity for her. [/FONT]

[FONT=&quot]Her daughter could probably benefit from NACoA. I doubt that she spent too much time teaching her daughter much of anything positive other than how to bend a spoon or melt a rock. However, as the child of an addict, she probably had to learn to fend for herself. I guess the key for her daughter is making ends meet between now and when Courtney hits rock bottom.

My mother in law is a loon and certain people, who shall remain unnamed, dread the thought of her arrival during the holidays. Man, I can only imagine Courtney coming for Thanksgiving. I'm not sure I could drink enough to stuff the turkey.
