I don't really care about Dennys policy or what the chief has to say.

I do know how much it sucks trying to have a lunch break at work and having some big scene come of it. I'd have gotten the hell out of there, too. As quietly as possible, I'd like to add.

I used to work at a Sambo's Restaraunt. It looked just like Denny's but I don't know if it was the same chain or not.

I am old enough to remember eating at Sambo's, the name was changed to The Jolly Tiger but some locations were bought by Denny's

I like it when armed Police Officers are in public places.

If something does happen, they can burn their ammo and I can save mine.....for another day at the range.....;)

Denny's is the worst anyway. Even at 3am after a night with a lot of drinks and a new scratch in your head board. It's horrible.

Is Denny's the former Sambo's?

Some of the Sambo's were bought by Dennys and the name was changed but Sambo's went belly up

IMO, if the cops were eatin' there, it's better than havin an armed guard at the restauraunt.... as long as the food is good

Very dumb on Dennys part, but I always thought IHOP was better :)

You know I like to stir the puddin'. I'm surprised about the name change, considering the demographics of the restaurants every time I go..err..end up there.

It is not like they serve colllard greens, hogjaw, pickled pig's feet, polk salad, blackeyed peas, cornbrean, chitterlings, -bacon, peanut butter and banana sandwhiches- and fried bacon rinds.

You guys run? I thought you rode unicorns over there.

Nah, man. All the unicorns were sold to China to pay off our deficit, so now we only have these shitty dala horses. They're made of wood so they dont actually move :(

Wasn't Denny's called something else back in the day?

Danny's and Denny's, I believe. But Denny saw all the profit in his sights, and got rid of Danny. :laugh2:

But.. I must say, it unnerves me to actually SEE a weapon in a public place, even on a police officer. I don't like sitting at a table and having a Sig Sauer at eye level when they walk by.

seriously?:Ohno::run::facepalm:

I'm pretty sure they're entirely separate companies.

Here's what Wiki has to say:

Sambo's is a restaurant, formerly an American restaurant chain, started in 1957 by Sam Battistone Sr and Newell Bohnett. Though the name was taken from portions of the names of its founders, the chain soon found itself associated with The Story of Little Black Sambo. Battistone Sr and Bohnett capitalized on the coincidence by decorating the walls of the restaurants with scenes from the book, including a dark-skinned boy, tigers, and a pale, magical unicycle-riding man called "The Treefriend." By the early 1960s, the illustrations depicted a light-skinned boy wearing a jeweled Indian-style turban with the tigers. A kids club, Sambo's Tiger Tamers (later called the Tiger Club), promoted the chain's family image.

I'll never get you guys that conceal carry that antiquated platform.

(flame shields engaged)

It is wise to carry what you train with and have confidence of getting good on target hits with.

For me that would be a slightly compact 1911 design that disappears in my holster under particular clothing designed for the purpose.

Alternately I have a truely compact 1911 that is OK, but I would have confidence in my abilities with it only at closer ranges.

One thin I really like about the 1911 is that it's skinny, provided you don't have a para warthog.

best thing to stop a bad person with a gun is a good person with a gun

I look forward to seeing you explain that to all nine of the innocent people who were injured when that guy recently shot a former co-worker at the Empire State Building because all nine of them were shot by the cops, not by the original gunman.
