So we're going to pretend that the gun in an inanimate object completely incapable of causing any harm?

Regardless of what makes anyone uncomfortable. There's a difference between saying "that man's shirt is red, where's the manager" and "that man has a gun, I'm unsure if firearms are allowed in here, where's the manager".

Nothing to pretend. I see a guy minding his own business with a gun holstered on his hip and a badge around his neck, I'm gonna go about minding my business, too. Then again, I'm not a hyper-sensitive, attention craving "do-gooder" trying to earn a gold star for over-reacting to a non-threat.

And you don't need to bother a manager. Just take a break from chowing down on your Grand Slam and step outside and look for sufficient signage prohibiting non-LEO's from possessing a firearm on the premises.

It's none of your business how much I time I spent anywhere.
It's also none of your business whether or not I am bothered by you carrying a weapon.
Oh... so now you're gonna tell me this is a two way street?

After pointing out (pointedly, I might add) that there are liberties in my country that I will enjoy?
You get pissed off.

I don't give a rat's ass WHAT you do, or where you do it.

Never have, never will.

If you are not on my property, speaking with my children, or creating obstacles for me?
I wish you nothing but the best.

YOU, on the other hand, are pissed off that I might own (and possess) a firearm.
Hell, I was a licensed dealer for years.
But still, you feel the need to challenge me.

Got it.

It's simple; I see something I do not feel comfortable with, I ask for the person in charge of said establishment. Should they say "There is no policy against that" it's up to me to either suck it up, or leave. Period. Alerting the person in charge isn't "hiding behind the Kingergarten teacher's skirt".
That's part of the problem today.
You have every right to be "uncomfortable" about anything you want.
But you indulge yourself at others' expense to worry about God knows what?

If I don't like something in a restaurant, I'll say something.
But I cannot think of the last time I approached restaurant staff about other patrons unless I suspected criminal activity.

It's pretty obvious your intentions are to stir the pot, look at your ****ing posts for crying out loud.
Your reference to my signature tells me that you are most likely Liberal to a crippling degree, or clueless.
Now you presume to tell me what I "hinted" when I told you straight fxcking up what my intent was.

I never said ANYONE was stripping guns from cops - and the "hint" was that Denny's personnel made a stupid call.

But alas, only you know about the bubble you live in, only you know about how things make you FEEL.

Never mind facts, logic and reason.

You can give it a fxcking rest, or we can do this until the cows come home.
Irritating the fxck outta people who are begging for it is a hobby of mine. :naughty: :D

Because obviously if anyone feels uncomfortable they are just seeking attention, and that elusive gold star.

Never recall being "pissed" that you owned anything. If I ask the owner of the establishment, and they chose not to have firearms around...that's their choice to make. If there was loud patrons in the restaurant I would ask to speak to a manager and see if this was deemed acceptable in their place of business...

So let's get this straight

- You ask me how long I spent in Texas, but don't care what I do or where?
- You are not to be challenged
- You also have experienced everything in life, no nothing of a bubble, and are all knowing.
- Your signature also tells me that you are most likely a Conservative to a crippling degree.

Meanwhile in Sweden: If you see someone with a gun in a public place that is not a uniformed cop, soldier or a hunter - run away and call the cops. :thumb:

Caveat: I'm just "discussing" here, as I'm STFD of the pushing of political agendae that's been going on since the most recent mass shooting of innocents.

That aside - I can make a case the other way 'round. Some whack-job armed to the teeth could pick my place of business as a prime target simply because it was full of armed officers - with their hands on their forks instead of their pistol grips.

Every damned one of these cases can be argued from five ways from Sunday. But there's only one correct side, and it's the side you're on. :slash:

Yeah, I hear ya. While that is a possible scenario I think its a little less likely considering I don't live in a Steven Segal movie, but I understand the Devil's Advicate POV.

I'm also tired if the political rhetoric that's involved in half of the threads around here and I have been since I joined. Whether it guns, taxes, unions or the election arguing about it on an online forum is pointless. Neo is one side, Geo is on the other and the rest of us fall in between getting caught up in the crossfire. I try not to get too involved but I'm weak and eventually say something stupid and get pissed off.

As far as this specific situation, I don't really have an issue with the patron bringing the fact that someone has a gun to the attention of management, as long as they just saw the gun and not a badge. Since 9/11 we've been told over and over again to report any suspicious activity, the problem is who's to say what is suspicious and what isn't. If this woman turned out to not be a cop and wound up shooting a bunch of people in Denny's how many people here would be saying that someone should have notified someone if they saw something suspicious?

Guess when that local Dennys gets held up, the LEO's won't be able to enter since they are armed.

Pretty stupid policy IMO. In my area, most restaurants offer on-duty LEO's significant discounts since if there are armed LEO's in the establishment, it's safe to assume it won't have any problems from the peanut gallery nor will it attract their attention to even bother to frequent that place at all.

I carry all the time unless there is a sign that specifically says no weapons... but, i've seen a sign maybe once since i've been carrying....

I've also never been asked to remove my weapon because nobudy can freakin see it, thats the whole idea of "concealed carry".

Two good things about winter.. No bugs.. bigger clothes, 1911 is more easily concealed!!

But.. I must say, it unnerves me to actually SEE a weapon in a public place, even on a police officer. I don't like sitting at a table and having a Sig Sauer at eye level when they walk by.

Sambo's? Which is funny because it is a story about a boy from INDIA!

Ever see a fvcking tiger in Africa?

You know I like to stir the puddin'. I'm surprised about the name change, considering the demographics of the restaurants every time I go..err..end up there.

I'll never understand how Little Black Sambo ever got confused to be related to Africans or African-Americans. It was a story set in India, about an Indian family and Indian boy.

Just the fact there were 4 tigers who each held the tail of the next tiger and ran around a tree until they turned into butter should be a clue it COULDN'T be about Africa!

Sweet!

I know I used to hate it when I'd go to Denny's after a long night of bar hopping and drug use and there'd be cops in there, all sober n crap, staring at me and my buds while we laughed loudly and satisfied our buzz munchies.

I hate Denny's almost as much as McDonalds. It is wierd, no matter what Denny's you go to anywhere in the county, the food sucks equally as much.
