Oh good a cop bashing thread!

Cops baaaad...really really baaaaad!

Especially the WHITE ones

One time I was drunk, driving 100+ on the freeway. Some bored jack booted thug had the nerve to pull me over. I told him to go fight some REAL crime...its not like I'm a MURDERER.

Talking of cops, I spoke to @Caleb yesterday . He says that he hasn’t been able to stop by the forum as he has been working around the clock and exhausted .

I’m pretty sure he has more important things than parking tickets too.

Our local police posted on Facebook the other day of a car with a self made license plate using paper :laugh2:

Next time you speak with him, tell him that I did an airplane rant just for him and he missed it.

Does POWER corrupt? No, I have tons of POWER, I never "flex." We need cops. We need criminals. This world is set up EXACTLY as it should be.

I don't have a problem with police, nor border control. So long as they are honest and do the job they are supposed to.

Locally, a group in the police got caught organising a prostitution ring that may or may not have had the women and boys in question being chauffeured around in unmarked cars (naturally, the court that eventually heard the case sealed the documents).

20 years ago I had a friend who worked in border control, not behind a desk, out in the field, ski patrols with gun/firefights against drug runners and such, dangerous shit. I respect him and what he did/does. But, he said the amount of illegal substances (pot, hash, etc) that is confiscated and mysteriously disappears from the guard posts is far from negligible. He also explained that while one is not allowed to import liquor across the border, most turn a blind eye to a single bottle, unless they want the bottle themselves, in which case the law says you have to pay a 100% tarrif on it, plus a charge for trying to bring it across the border. You have to pay both or they confiscate it. Most people balk at paying 150% again for the bottle, so leave it. He said almost all of the confiscated liquor ends up going down the drain, in the form of urine.

I have also been falsely arrested in a case of mistaken identity. The guy they wanted was the same height, but skinny as a rail (I am FAR from skinny). Turned out the cop was nearing retirement and was DRUNK ON DUTY when he saw me and told his two colleagues to arrest me. When I asked why I was being arrested, he told me to "shut the fuck up". No joking.

So, yeah. The police are not always your friends and anyone who says we should respect the police by default is talking out their ass. Respect is earned.

There are good cops, bad cops, exceptional cops, lazy cops...

People are people. Just because you get a job your personality doesn’t change overnight. Some people have integrity, others gain integrity, others don’t...

You get where I’m coming from.

I like to think most cops are good people. I also like to think politicians are all good people too, but I’m wrong.

So you cannot generalize when it comes to these things.

I can't say where, but I am an elected politician on a town level. The corruption I personally have witnessed in all parties, including my own political party, is just horrendous. There are about 20% of the town council that are altruistic / honest people trying to change the town to make it better for the citizens. The rest are in it for the money (left, right and centre), or a way to gain knowledge through the different commissions to exploit and make money for their friends. And this is only on a TOWN level, so peanuts compared to the higher levels...

My point exactly. I have many bad stories of cops in my home town pulling shenanigans, and getting fired.

I can also tell plenty of good stories of cops where I live now, that go above and beyond the job description.

I would offer that this is true, on every level, in every muni, county, state and federal "government" across our land.

Narcissism, Power & Greed... the real drug problems in 'Merica.

Come on man, I can give you a pass on the cops being good people - by an overwhelming percentage. But, the pols? :laugh2:

I needed that laugh this morning.
I certainly DON’T want to make this thread about politics, but the same concept applies to all positions of power.

Well, there is an increased risk pulling into traffic when you park against traffic, so there is that.

If the officer put a bogus address on the ticket when you really were out of his bailiwick, then that's a problem and you may want to get in touch with his chief and make a complaint.

@scott1970, we love ya bro.

I give them the respect I feel they deserve, until they prove me wrong. I don't have any *bad cop* stories/experiences.
