Did you replace the maple top with one of Tom Bartletts then?

Ahh, yes my mistake. I re-read back on context.

That greco has one hell of a top on it. Is it a solid top or laminate flame?
My tokai is a laminate but has a great greeny type top, i know the early grecos did aswell.

You've reconvinced me to do one build, i have a strat to refinish aswell.....
Plus decking the garden...perhaps i have enough to do!

Well, my Stratocaster doesnt seem to think a replica is a good idea,

Just stripped all the hardware of it and when de-soldering the earth from the trem claw i did this:-

I was rushing and could hear my daughter shouting me from downstairs and just got hold of it like a pen.....ive used a soldering iron so many times, cant believe i did it.

No guitar playing for a few days...

i know they're more than just a kit.more expensive than just a kit too therefore the loss is potentially bigger.
by all means build one for yourself but that 2nd one? yeah I dunno if I'd want to risk that kinda $$$ tied up in it.
