Ok. I have been on a SG run for a while. I am down to one LP Studio, a nice 2013 and an Epi. There is an Ebony Standard I played I really liked the feel of when I played it. I have not really considered a black L.P. previously. I have one non-transparent guitar these days. It is an Ebony HH Strat which is "that" one - one of those I will die with guitars.

Can you Ebony owners show me what I am missing? Show me this will be another of those keepers .... I love the feel now I just need to see the lookers. Especially some stylish, class act and blinged out ebony!

Because my LP Classic Custom was done on the main production line and no rear body binding. The fingerboard is made from baked maple, which looks really light brown, until you start oiling it, then i starts to go a deep black and feels like a real ebony board. Originally the guitar came with chrome hardware, which I swapped with replacement Gibson gold hardware. I did some other minor changes and I got the classic '57s replaced with 490/498 humbuckers like the full custom had. I only paid £1200 for the guitar with hard shell case and had it delivered to me. I spent about another £380 on the replacement parts.

I had a '11 traditional w/ the p90s and I spent more time cleaning the darn thing. It ruined me of black guitars. Look at it wrong and its dirty.

Same reason I'll never own a black car

I hear you. I have had black vehicles Cars or trucks) for the last 15 years at least. I am mostly color blind so Black and White get a lot of votes for color choice. The fingerprints and yuck will bother me though. Good input!
