Connery passes away and so it would seem the series follows.

This should be awesome if they keep in this direction.

Lynch said she is “grateful” for the opportunity to not only carry on the Bond legacy but to “challenge those narratives.”

“We’re moving away from toxic masculinity, and that’s happening because women are being open, demanding and vocal and calling out misbehaviour as soon as we see it,” said Lynch, who is of British and Jamaican descent.

Wish her the best but I won't be watching it when it comes out to the cinemas.

It's like they never learn their lesson, every movie this has been done to it's been crap. And then they go out and cry some more and blame men for being sexist for not coming out to watch them. When in the fact the numbers show that majority of women were ignoring the movie and they didn't even manage to attract enough women to go see it.

Why do you have to bastardize an already working concept? I don't have any issues with females playing strong characters and being badasses, so why not create more of those. Instead of hijacking an already successful franchise all to make a freaking statement about toxic masculinity....

Cinema is about entertainment and your job is an actor/actress not a political activist. People don't pay to be brainwashed or get some ideology message shoved down their throat.

Because no one in Hollywood actually has an imagination. Just just know how to sleaze their way to some money, the movie industry is dieing a slow, unoriginal and boring death.

I think strong female leads in movies are a great idea,
Gina Davis in The Long Kiss Goodnight was really good. It’s when they do something to make a BIIIiG statement that things turn to suck.

I think we agree.
Angelina Jolie was great in "Salt". Love action heroes of both sexes. But screwing with tradition rarely is accepted well. Englishman debonaire Bond is a nearly 60 year old tradition. It shouldn't be fucked with.

Well guys, I have no problem with strong women. My wife of 37 years is a strong woman, and she makes money fall out of the trees. So what am I to say about that except “keep that up!” But James Bond is a dude, and one hell of a dude. There is really no way a woman can be James Bond. Now, can a spy woman be a movie character who beats the hell out of adversaries? Oh hell yes. It has actually happened. But it is not James Bond.

Thank goodness some brave WOC is finally challenging the James Bond narrative. I mean, isn’t that what people have been saying for nigh on 50 years now, that we need more female black fictional double “0”s?

About time I say...

And can we finally do something about the paternalistic and racist white people living in Wakanda!

cheers.

It's like making Scooby-doo a cat. 007's misogyny was part of the charm. It's not a documentary.

I told my wife and she said she will never see J B again ,, She said that women want to fantasize about being with a debonair Spy like Daniel Craig ,, They wont get her money . Hollywood will never learn that some movie franchise need to be left alone. ,,Hey wait a minute ,, my phone just rang , its , its,,, Oceans 11, and Ghostbusters ,,, they just called to tell me That is correct , the female versions went straight into the bargain bin section at Walmart !

Well, we can have female "tough" spy characters, but they can't be 007! Now an acror who could be the next James Bond might be Jason Monomo -- the American Bad Ass! But I agree with meatball's wife about 007. Women want to see a man who can control the situation.

I think we can all agree the Bond movies were severely hampered by toxic masculinity. I'm comforted by a James Bond who makes it home only to collapse on the floor in a pool of tears while taking off the high heel shoes.

I want equality. I want James Bond to say, "No martini for me. It's that time of the month, and I'm bloated already."

And I think we can all agree that the Bond franchise has look tired and ridiculous for about thirty years, so there's not a lot there to lose.

I'm waiting for Andy Dick to replace Gal as Wonderman.

As for the new Bond flick, I carefully studied the problem of not wanting to watch some stupid SJW bullshit movie and here's the solution I came up with:
Don't watch it.
Remember when pissed off fans sank the Solo movie? This'll be the same thing, but the studio won't have the Disney machine behind it to call out all the evil white men for hating women.

One sex change I hated was in the Battlestar Galactica reboot, at least until Katee Sackhoff and the writers won me over. It can be done but should it be done is the question.
