That to me is not damage. When the time comes for me to get my LP, I am looking for one that has a lot of "wear".....To me, that means it must be a good player to have been used so much. As long as the thing plays great, I actually hope it has a lot of mojo marks.

You did fine! A little bit of playing wear has begun your authentic relicing process!:applause:

Thanks for kind words from all of you. As I understand, there's a mixed opinion on what people like when it comes to worn or non-worn finishes. As long as these marks aren't going to be a problem, I'm happy. The front looks great anyway :D

I want to echo what others have said . . . that is a sweet guitar! Especially for the price you paid. And the dings wouldn't bother me much, especially if I got such a great deal.

Congratulations, HNGD!

Years ago, I purchased a very used and abused US Strat- an 83. It had cigarette burns, bad chips, etc- but was priced accordingly. For the same price I picked up a 70s SG from somebody's grandma. It still had the plastic on, despite being 10 yrs old ( like new). I rarely played the SG as it was 'too nice.' The other was played until the finish wore off the neck. Just saying, turning a guitar into a museum piece is no fun.

There are many different types of LP player. Someone who is perhaps older and more likely to play in Blues or Jazz lounges is less likely to have anything less than a pristine guitar. If you play out rock/hard rock in some small clubs/dives and get into the music as you play, this sort of wear is inevitable. Lets put it this way........scenario 1 finds it hard to understand scenario 2

Are people really claiming carelessness on this one? Huh? Looks like a well played guitar to me. This guitar is PLAYED, plain and simple, and nicks and dings happen, even when being careful, especially when playing in a band or traveling.

And like someone already said, people are paying big money for "aged from the factory" guitars.

The way I see this one? Looks like the guitar has character and a story to it. As long as the price reflects the condition (and it looks like it does) AND it plays well (usually a guitar does if someone stuck with it long enough to put that much wear on it) then it's good in my book.

When I was a new to playing guitar I only wanted pristine samples... not any more. :)

That's all that matters.

I love a worn guitar, I just want the wear to have been inflicted by me, and not by my own clumsiness.

But buying used you have to set your own boundaries.

Glad you like it, now play the snot out of it and add your own wear too.

Again, there's two types of people. Some would call it too worn, some want it that way. Don't know which of those I am yet, maybe somewhere inbetween. This is how I feel: the back of the body and neck can be worn, as long as the front (the gorgeous top) is goodlooking, which I think it is :)

That's what I'd expect to see for a $1200 guitar. I wouldn't bother fixing it either. Congrats!
