Combine Amber pickup and Gibson pickup

Hello,

I would like to install an Amber Spirit of 59 (neck) and a Gibson 490T on my Les Paul.

What do you think about this combination?
Anyone in this case? Phase/tone problems?

Basically PAF-alikes, a2 in the bridge and a4 in the neck. Nothing out of the ordinary at all otherwise. The spirit pickup isn't potted which I couldn't live with but maybe that's your thing.

I predict it to sound like any other guitar with PAF style pickups but with a slightly rounder bass and softer treble on account of the magnets... To the point where you could buy a cheap set of A5 paf clones and swap the magnets yourself, save about $400, and be 95% there.

I never play an unpotted pickups... Noises are so terrible?
Is there any way to wax the pickup by myself?
