Anyone else seeing signs at their local stores asking you to pay with credit/debit cards or exact change due to a national coin shortage?

Yep, I've seen that. Coin shortages are nothing new - they crop up from time to time.

I have a gallon plastic jug I usually fill then cash in for a quick $500+. Takes a while. Not very much in it now as I use less and less cash these days, pre-COVID included.

I would, but I'm out of my service area and would have to peso much in roaming charges!

Yes. Several stores I’ve been at here in MN have signs at the register claiming a coin shortage.

My local pharmacy will not accept cash anymore. They require you to use a card. When I pressed them on this, they said it was due to virus fears.

How stupid - especially for a pharmacy - as plastic is better able to host a virus or bacteria compared to metal or a paper dollar. The CDC has publications addressing this fact.
