CLOSE CALL! big fires in Chico just missed me!
It started just a mere 300 yards from my apartments
in Chico and has burned over 6,000 acres and has
burnt over 11 miles away into the mountains near
Paradise, it just missed our apartments, and
two schools. There was a mandatory evacuation
at 3pm yesterday of everyone just east or our apartments
and had to stay at an evacuation center over night.
So a few thousand people had to leave just down the
street from me. Just yesterday south of here 21 homes
burnt up and 99 cars and trucks in Oroville.
The winds are picking up again and the fire is 0%
contained but im safe now.
Here are some early photos, from my front yard, they dont look too
bad because they were just in the first hour, but it got so bad you couldnt
see a couple hours later.

Thousands have been kept out of their homes tonight because of the looming danger of the Humboldt fire.
Now many Chico residents are banding together to survive this natural disaster.
"We're just sitting tight," says Honey Run Road resident Kelley Tapp.
That's the thought on many residents minds watching the orange cloud grow over east Chico.
Even the animals are sensing an emergency.
Tapp says,"My horse kicked me down, making my chest split a cinder block, but it wasn't her fault, she was scared."
The Tapp's were not under mandatory evacuation, but many resident's who left their homes before the roads closed down have no way to get back in.
Neal Road Resident Stephen McClintock says, "I'll walk if i have to, I'll park and walk in."
Arlie Hixon went for help at the Red Cross Emergency Shelter set up at the Neighborhood church, knowing she would be away from her home all night.
Hixon says, "They took a look at the list of my husband's prescriptions I keep with me. A deputy went in, I directed him to them in the house and brought them to us."
The evacuation center is serving as an information post, bringing evacuees the latest updates and an idea of when they may get to return home.
Hixon says, "They've been great at the shelter. Just asking if we need anything at all."
Some are waiting it out away from the flames, while others are watching as it continues to unfold.
Tapp says, "Now that it's jumped the creek, we're just sitting here surrounded by fire."
Cal-Fire officials believe the road closures will start being lifting in sections Thursday.
