I don't watch the show, but my daughter sent me this pix of Gaga from last night. Great shot.

This woman is truly a class act. I don't dig a lot of her music. And, the costumes can be ridiculous most times. But, oh man... can she sing? Yes. Yes, she can.

She's beyond a 'would' for me. If you haven't seen "Five Foot Two" - it's worth a watch.

Gaga got noticed with all her weird shit.... Pretty smart to me..... Been done before to separate one from the other eleventy-seven gillion folks trying to get noticed.....

No different to me than Talking Heads.... Bad to the damn bone musicians....but they 'got noticed'....

Alice Cooper, Zappa, RHCP, etc.... Got noticed AND were badasses.....

So much of the industry became [ Not About The Freaking Music ] but they broke through with their schtick.....

Just my opinion.... Don't much care who agrees.... I well remember sitting in a club and having my shit totally blown away listening to bands like Hotel and Beaverteeth waaaaay back wondering why the hell aren't these guys on top.... Lots of killer bands that 'should have'.


Hotel: Calton is a guitarist from hell..... entire band was mind boggling good....

Beaverteeth (SInger became orig singer ARS, came out of Roy Orb's The Candymen as did some of the others, became BJT's band for a good while) One of the best guitarists I've known and this has some of the best recorded guitar soloing ever done in my opinion.... Knew most of these guys for decades... They were known for 'perfect'... Check out the guitar solos. RM was the engineer at Buddy's One in Dora IIRC...

When I saw Gaga belt out the Star-Spangled Banner... with no stylization... just old school vibrato and power... she won me over. I don't dig her music, but highly respect her as a vocalist.

I don't know what it was about Howard's studio, but man he sure got some great performances recorded there. The musicians always seemed to bring their A-game in that studio too.
