Hello all.
I am slowly moving towards a build. To this end I am looking over the wood I have on hand. I have some good mahogany so that is not a problem. I also have some maple but it is very plain looking. I also have some nice looking cherry, any opinions as to how cherry would sound compared to maple for a top.
Would I be giving up some tonal quality for looks?
Cheers Ron.

Cherry will make a fine top. Cherry is close to an ideal top as far as density and should in general enhance the midtone (all things being equal and compared to maple)

Good one, but it might lead to my wife getting involved in helping me play the music, Hmmmmmmmm, not a bad idea after all. Makes me think of Squeeze Box by the Who.
Cheers Ron.
