same kind of bridge, pickguard, neck dots with binding, p90s,...

ok I think his p90's are chrome covered and I can't get a good look at the tuners but I think they're chrome/grover style, but still,...$400. gets you a Tony Iommi 1970 SG replica,..how cool is that?

Wow... I had no idea that most of the early Sabbath stuff featured p-90's on Iommi's guitar.

"This is the original SG that was used on the majority of the original line-up albums and tours. It has been identified by Gibson as a 1965 SG Special. It has a Gibson P90 pick up in the bridge position that was fitted into a metal case by John Birch. The neck pick up is a John Birch custom P90 type single coil. The finger board is finished with clear polyurethane.

Instantly identified by the cartoon monkey sticker, this guitar became the main instrument when the bridge pick up on Tony’s white Stratocaster failed after the band recorded ‘Wicked World’ on the ‘Black Sabbath’ album. It was not, however, without its problems. Due to the thin neck profile at the heel, there were always tuning stability problems and the single coil pick ups were always susceptible to picking up interference.

The guitar was donated by Tony to the Hard Rock Café organisation (as seen in their documentary ‘Hard Rock Treasures’). At the time of writing it is on display at the Times Square location in New York City."

then I'll be happy,.........for a little while

..then onto Children of the Grave, Fairies wear boots, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Sweetleaf, The Wizard...etc. etc. :laugh2:

I have major SG gas.
I played one of those new SGJs and it was real nice.
I wasn't looking for SGs so that's the only one I played,
but having never been a fan, I'm converted.

And Iommi is my biggest SG influence.
He's really the only reason I wasn't some P-90s.

Same. Iommi and Pepper Keenan are my big SG influences.

I love all the hum and noise, the electricity, before they play a single note.

wait till I start a Kickstarter/Fund Me page asking for $2,500 for a Gibson. :laugh2:

Ever since that story went viral about the girl who jumped off her house and broke her feet got all those 'donations' to pay for her rent and cell phone,...my friends have been joking, "You should start one! Ask for $6,000 and get a Custom Shop! Make the video funny like, "Since ya'll donated to the dumb chick who broke her own feet, how about donating to getting a BA musician a BA guitar!"

..even in the bar last night this girl I'm seeing was talking about that.

....funny how many people want me to play an 'expensive' guitar. :hmm:

I wonder why?

Sounds like a plan. Just change the 2500 Gibson for the 400$ epi and swear that we will see a vid of you performing live on stage with the guitar, RHCP style (socks only) :naughty:

I'm straight but I'd totally chip in :thumb:

I performed at a party once wearing a voodee mask over my crotch.

...I remember chasing someone at one point and wondering how weird it must look to see a naked guy with a voodoo mask over his crotch chasing a screaming man.

...It's been an odd life.

Kidding about the Kickstart thing btw. Some folks have suggested it and I've even considered it in the past,..but at the end of the day I'm not comfortable with begging or handouts.

Didn't do it when homeless, not gonna do it now. :thumb:

These thoughts always occur to me before I do anything crazy, hence I lead a boring life :)

I'm gonna start saving a buck here & there, because they're gonna be blowing those out in a few months for less than that.

I'd like a red one or a white one, plz :)

I'd get it if I hadn't just put $$$ aside for the VintageUK order.

looks like that p90 SG would be a hell of a lot of fun to bang around on though.
