Hey all,

Last week I purchased a 2010 Gibson Faded Les Paul Junior Singlecut. It came with a gig bag. I LOVE the guitar but would like a case that is significantly more secure. At Guitarcenter they told me that the normal Gibson Les Paul cases do not fit the Junior because of the flattop.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a case that would work? I know TKL makes a case, but it is really expensive ($250ish), and I have to imagine there is something a bit cheaper that still works. I just cannot find anything online.

I'm glad that Gibson is finally selling cases separately, but I wish they would sell one for the Junior/Special. I have the TKL case for my Special, but really want a Gibson case. I've been looking for a while. I know that they are capable of making cases. I have another Special that came with a case.

Good luck with your search. I've been looking for a couple of years.

I have a 2007 Gibson Melody Maker Reissue. I use a Gibson Les Paul case. Since the body is thinner then the Les Paul I put a folded towel under the body to make up for the space. It fits snug.

Take the Special to GC and ask them to find a case
Mine fit in the standard LP case perfectly

I ordered the TKL 8824 LTD (for my '56 Special) from AValive last September - $124.98 + $30.96 shipping to Washington state. It's a VERY nice arch top case with double neck supports, and it's noticeably slimmer than a standard LP case. I did end up placing a folded-up wash cloth under the body to get the neck at the correct angle to sit on both supports. I'd buy it again if I ever needed another.

or get an epi LP case with a towel underneath the body, less worry about stress on the neck, as they only have one support.

where are you located?

They did make a chainsaw case for the jr. and other slab body’s. Got one from a member. Look for the one without the lid on the internal compartment. I have another chainsaw for another jr. and it needs just a little padding. HardCore trubidore may be able to help. There’s a thread about chainsaw case history and you may find what you’re looking for there. They are awesome cases.
