Carving maple top before gluing to body

Sigh.....there's 2 dots at "12", fret marker placements?

This merely confirms what I already suspected. I'm a schmuck :)

I think I was looking so hard for some super-esoteric thing that the obvious escaped my notice.

Dots at 3, 5, 7, 9, and 2 dots at 12. :)

Maybe I actually did get it and I'm just pretending to be a simpleton :)

That whole thing went way over my head. I never noticed the dot placement. I don't get out enough.

One of the issues with carving the top before gluing to the body is that even seasoned, dead-flat, maple will move (slightly warp) when material is taken away. Especially in the thinner areas in the horns. Take extra care when clamping and gluing onto the body.
