Fight Club

Embrace your rage, bust some heads (with willing participants)
Hit the heavy bag, do some sprints, free weights, join an MMA school or dojo
Don't bottle it up

And wish you lived anywhere but Maryland and you will feel better..
for a few minutes until you realize your still in Maryland:hmm:

true. :laugh2:

Was born there, learned to play there, and had my life destroyed there and left the state homeless.

F**k that State! :laugh2: I get in a bad mood as soon as I cross the state line into MD.

Sorry Plexi,...sounds like you need a vacation or something. Time alone to decompress.

You didn't mention it but I'm sure there's probably some external factors (work, relationship, life) at play that are contributing to your mood.

So far the best advice seems to be "start dressing like a girl". Hell, I don't know, try it. Maybe it'll work.

I'm a little pissed off today as well. I shouldn't be, since tomorrow at 3PM I start my summer vacation, but then this happened:

The underground parking lot of my condo complex is where the bike racks are located. They are full. Full of bikes, at least 90% of which appear to have been abandoned. Flat tires. Rusty chains. I've been here two years, and I've only seen a handful of the bikes actually being used. Parking spots are at a premium.

So I keep two locks, one on my bike for when I'm out and about, the other I leave on the bike rack on my spot. A marker, if you will. "This spot is being used. Please find another."

My Spot.

2 years I've been parking there.

I come home from work today and find that some dickhead has his bike in my spot. He just moved the lock up and out of the way and just parked his cheap discount-mart bike there.

If I had any inclination to think that this bike would only be there temporarily and that I could reclaim My Spot again tomorrow, it vanished when I took a closer look at his bike and noticed some rather excessive chain sag. A broken, dangling shifter cable near the rear hub. A conspicuous absence of rear derailleur.

An unrideable bike. Surely, 'tis another soon-to-be abandoned POS.

So I locked my bike to his. Through his front wheel, through the rack iron, through my frame. U-bolt. Kryptonite. 6 pounds of steel. My bike ain't going anywhere.

As it happens, I won't be needing my bike for the next few days. I truly hope he does.

I surely do.

I had many similar problems in my condo's basement parking lot.
Now I just park my bike against the wall between two car parking spaces, so as to make it appear to one user, it's from the other.

When I feel like this it's usually due to not getting enough sleep.

Yea Maryland's one of those states that just pisses off everyone. The traffic is terrible, cost of living is sky high (for what)

And the local government is a zoo.

Yup, I've seen the face of Hell,...and it's called Montgomery County. :laugh2:

"Never a more wretched hive of scum and villainy"

:laugh2:

the schools sucked, the cops and judges sucked, the taxes suck, the job (and gig/music) opportunities suck, peoples general spoiled and b*tchy attitudes sucked........some beautiful parks and woods though. :laugh2:

Growing up in Rock Creek Park was cool,...but as I got older and got more into Gaithersburg, Germantown, Bethesda, Olney, etc. ... I didn't care for it much. Frederick was sorta cool ... until I walked through town with my black ex-wife and was pretty much run out of town by 6 rednecks. Not the place for me apparently.

And there was like nothing to do,..other then run around in the woods and play guitar,...or drink/f*ck/fight and get into trouble.

Maybe you need a change of scenery. :D

Find someone with the same warped sense of humor you have and get drunk at a comedy club and laugh your ass off.. Through laughter, and the consumption of alcohol, you will forget everything that was bothering you..

Don't take for granted that which you truly love and enjoy.

The rest of the bullshit is simply a means to an end.

OK I've finally got the solution to your problem, a full proof method of shifting your mood to a better place. I present to you

I suffer from depression as part of PTSD.

I have three things I can do to help myself feel better.

The first is to exercise, have a walk for example. The natural endorphins that are released into your system when you exercise are akin to opiates and they make you feel good! I have a moderate back problem and I force myself to walk every day I can but I have to use a walking stick to be able to do it. It still hurts but the benefits are greater than the discomfort!

The second weapon in my arsenal is meditation.

Now not everyone knows how to do this but it's worth learning how I promise you.

20 minutes of meditation can (does) turn me from an unreasonable, unhappy arsehole to a reasonable and happy person. I am able to cope with the hurdles life throws at me that way.

Lastly, green tea.

I am a Vietnam Veteran and I have problems. OK no big deal lots of people have problems worse than mine but the anti depressants medications were causing me problems almost worse than the complaint. I hasten to add that the medication has improved since I was taking it and some have almost no side effects so don't be scared off if you need them.

I have been having 3 to 4 cups of green tea a day and almost immediately I found it calmed me down! It was better than the medication by far and has other benefits. Read about it if what I have said is of any interest.

Now those 3 things all work! The meditation if you learn how to do it, can be applied to control your mood in any situation for example sitting in traffic late for an appointment. A simple relaxation exercise there will reduce your stress levels straight away. Relaxation techniques are the basis of reaching a meditative state.

With exercise the benefits are instant also. Green tea takes a week or so to help you but it really works folks. You may think that all of this sounds like alternative B/S but that is not the person I am, I am a skeptic and have only accepted these truths after lots of trial and error, lots of experience in other words.

Try one of these and you will see I'm right~
