I have swapped the new case for a sexy as hell brown and pink one, always loved that case. Can swap it back if I ever need to.

This is the only imperfection I can see. It's minor and doesn't bother me but I was surprised to see it. It's like the binding hasn't been finished properly.

Other than that I think I might have this one for a long time :):):)

Thanks for all the suggestions and support guys.

Yes I did. There was a little finish blip in the back edge of the cut away - little circular thing, like a bubble. Got it at PMT Norwich, but my understanding is they moved it to a different store?

Anyway, the damn (& stunningly gorgeous) thing infuriated me with tuning instability - no doubt the nut / bridge. I chatted to the sales guy about it and we'd discussed the option of a refund or check over & sort. I hadn't decided for sure. Had reason to call again before I went back in and spoke with the manager, as it was the sales guy's day off. Being his usual self - your best friend when spending money and a total condescending / patronizing wa**er any other time, he was a total d!ck and so I decided to return it out of making some kind of point and pi**ing him off. Thinking I'd rather spend my dosh somewhere else.

Now though, I think I probably should've just sorted it myself and kept such a stunning guitar!

It really is a very nice example!

I would've chimed in sooner had I seen it before this evenin!

Thanks for that iguana. Yeah I don't know how I missed that little mark. But it's there. Seems to have kept tune so far so maybe they've fixed it but I'll keep an eye on it. Was it a particular string or just all of it?

It wasn't all, but it wasn't just one either. Hopefully they've sorted it mate. If not, there's nothing inherently wrong with it, just sort nut and set up. I just had a stupid knee jerk reaction to the nob head 'manager'.

If you ever think about selling it, I'd truly love to have first refusal!?!!

Thanks again, you had me goin for a minute there. Ill maybe do a nut upgrade just to be sure but it plays really really good. I'm thinking they've sent it for a setup and nut file, then sent it to another shop. In my hand now and it's defo been set up. Action is one of the lowest I've ever come across.

I'm not selling it but you never know circumstances change, might even buy another eventually and favour the other one or something, but if I ever do I'll give you first refusal mate. I know where to find you lol.

Sounds good. Oh and sorry to get ya worrying!

I set it up fairly low. I like all mine set up low. Love it when you just find that sweet spot hiding in there!

But, I don't have experience of nut replacements and / or proper files to use on the slots, so wanted them to sort it.

Does it still have graphite in the nut? If so, hasn't been replaced. But slots may have been widened or something.

Look after her for me! ;)

No graphite but its defo the original nut. Can see fine file marks too so someone's been at it.

Don't worry I'll keep her nice and feed her Marshall valve amps and nothing but the finest of strings. :thumb:

Obviously I'll keep the original parts but I was thinking about switching the tuners and truss rod cover for genuine seventies ones I have on a gibshun lp. I also have older top hat knobs but their not in great condition. What do you think?

I really loved her just as is / was. I especially loved her without the guard.

Marshall valve amps are just what she needs. Perfect - match made in heaven I reckon.

I'll keep an eye out for updates on here.

If you can find it, check out my description of her, in a thread about whether another UK Caramel Trad owner should remove pickguard or not. I think I hit the nail on the head - got all nostalgic and remorseful when typing that too.

Is the ghost flaminess a characteristic of the Caramel? I really think it is.

Also love the way they change so much in colour, depending on lighting and eyes vs camera - or at least yours does!

Pmsl, yeah just found that in your previous posts, you sound like you'd just lost a lover lol. Proper remorse there my friend, makes me love it all the more :)

No it's not a trait of the traditional. I looked at three in person and seen many more over the net and mine is quite unique in many respects. I have seen the sort of ghost flame and the interesting grain, but not together. One I looked at was quite plain with a subtle maybe single A flame. The other one I looked at was like a AAA tiger stripe. But just didn't appeal like me caramel does. She's now my phone screensaver and the thing I would grab if god forbid my place went up in smoke. Hell I'd sleep with it lol.

Yeah you might be rite on the keep it original. Other than the speed knobs. I'm sorry but I just don't like them, just going to order new gibson top hats. I'll keep the speed knobs for you in five to ten years maybe iguana:thumb:

Top job!

I do feel a bit like that. But, I also have an overdue NGD thread coming up (an interesting one) and another imminent one or maybe two, which all help. Got a serious LP GAS problem at the moment!

I did go and spend my money elsewhere and over compensated somewhat!! But I still wish I hadn't been so hasty with that Caramel - especially right now.

Got your pm too, cheers.

Cheers & I most definitely will. Need to (try and) do my new toys justice. Already got a couple I haven't posted up yet, which I will tomorrow most likely. Including the 'interesting' one (read Gibson nuances) - she's definitely unique!

Congrats on the new axe, Caramel! I'm glad you found one you're happy with!

Just so happens I sold our Caramel yesterday to a very happy customer who chose it over a 2013 Standard in Desert Burst - I knew the Traditional wouldn't stick around long!

Iguana - I work at PMT in Southend, and it really sucks to hear you had a bad experience at the Norwich store. How long ago did this happen? I hope it hasn't permanently tarnished your opinion of the company. Next time your looking at making a serious purchase, feel free to contact me first and I'll make sure things run much smoother for you!

@ Misterjmorgan

Thanks for what you said, I appreciate it and will bear it in mind. I actually thought that manager matey had cheered up / changed since the new store and I tested the water with a small purchase (couple of leads), which made me think things had improved. But, unfortunately, they hadn't and the bloke is the same as ever. I'm sure I can't be the only one that thinks like this and it's a shame really.

Needless to say, I'm not keen on bothering again, as there are plenty of other places I can / I'd rather spend my money. All the other guys are spot on to my knowledge & experience to date - especially Stuart and Danny  - but unfortunately the whole place is let down by the one. Don't get me wrong, he's not a complete moron, he just does a good impression, at the worst time - when he should be excelling at customer service and behaving as you'd expect from a customer facing retail store manager.

EDIT - it was back in April / May. Not entirely sure of date at the moment, but can find out if you need to know specifically.
