Hmmmmmmm.......(lol, this is really just an excuse for me to post a pic of my McCarty 58)
BUT, I do agree that the PRS trem is near perfect - and I was a Floyd guy for 25 years!!

Well now I feel the need. I think it's one of the nicest stop tailpiece designs I've ever seen. AND it intonates perfectly, even with 11s.

Hey guys, I know nothing about these. It was given to my drummer a couple years back and she is wanting me to take it off her hands. I played it at practice the other night and it sounds great considering it has old strings on it. I did about an hours worth of research and was unable to find anything exactly like it, so I am unable to establish any sort of value. I hate the bridge and I hate the color but having never played one of these before I was impressed. I ripped through our whole catalog without having to change guitars once. I normally use two different LP's and a strat. In any case any help you guys can give would be appreciated.

Hard tail Custom 24s, especially in purple, are rare. So don't go jacking it up, if you don't like it as is (aside from pickups) sell it, thats a premium example.

Nah, I generally wont buy a guitar if I need to mod it to make myself happy, I just find a different one. So I found another one. It will be here today.

Very pretty! I always thought that was an elegant tailpiece. Keep an eye on it for cracks, though -- I've seen some of those '90s stop bars tear.

Thanks for the help guys. Turns out my drummer wants more for hers than I will pay for something with that bridge, but I got hooked on the damn thing. So I bought this..

Like I said before I don't know much about these. How did I do? Be honest please...

Trem and Standard neck ... might feel quite different to the stoptail and, er, no idea what neck would be on a ‘97 but could be Standard or Wide Thin on a Custom 24.

Mine came in last night. Put 10's on, adjusted the bridge and off to the races. Used it to lay down a couple lead tracks last night. The frigging bridge pickup screams. The sustain is incredible. All I can say is that if you want to hate on PRS don't ever play one because you will end up buying it.
