This was a CEO that was busted a little over a year ago that they copied the story from.

"UPDATE: Saltsman was given a suspended sentence of one to 15 years in prison for each count, but the judge ordered him to spend 210 days in the county jail and a warning." WOW...they should have brought him out back of the courthouse and shot him.

210 days in county jail with a conviction like that could easily have been a death sentence.

I do not think it is porn at all. I think the director was spot on.

Yes, there are scenes where it will make you cringe, but the truth is, how those girls act are exactly what many pre teens are doing now. This movie is trying to bring awareness and she is spot on.

The clothes that the girls wear...it is exactly what lots of pre teens are wearing and why? Because the PARENTS are buying them. If you think that is bad, look around social media, look around your own towns/cities, many girls are dressing like that, acting like that, dancing like that and posing like that.
Pouting for selfies, provocative dancing. Just like tik tok, youtube and even see it on some tv shows.

The pre teens are trying to be like their idols. Miley cyrus and alike.

I see pre teens wearing short shorts with butt cheeks hanging out while WITH their parents shopping or out for vacation.
So who is promoting now?

Netflix were stupid to change the posted to a clip of the movie. If left as it, there probably wouldn't have been such an uproar.

People saying it's disgusting without watching it.

It is not porn.

I would be the first one to say it was if it was. I wish parents would look more closely to their kids social media content. And not let pre teens wear such provocative clothing.

Just my 2 cents.

I watched it last night after hearing people talk about it who didn't watch it, and have to agree Harmony. I also thought it was a big slap against her family's culture and what it had instore for Ami. To be honest I mostly just moved past the dance scenes except I had to watch the end of the last one as something happened there. Was it a great movie? Not really. Is it for guys? Not really. Was it really provocative? Somewhat in parts, but no more so than Pretty Baby, Blue Lagoon, or The Professional. Would I recommend it? Not really. I thought the lead actress was pretty good which is the biggest thing I took away from the movie.

Maybe I've just seen this kind of outrage in the past.

All I can think of is the director of Cannibal Holocaust arguing that his movie was a statement against sensationalism and exploitation. It probably is, but the message is undermined by it being a stunning example of what it's trying to decry.

I bet to a pedo it is porn though
How is it porn? They are not naked. They are not having sex . You see one glimpse of a bare breast of an older teen in a video that they watch. Yes they danced like strippers for a competition but It was trying to show what some naive young girls can be influenced by or do something to fit in. It is reality . Social media is dangerous for many young girls.

If you truly think pedos see that as porn, then many parents are the ones giving it freely by allowing their girls dress, dance, put selfies online and many other things that was portrayed in that movie .

I have listened and read so much hypocrisy from some parents , it’s mind boggling . The very same ones that let their girls pose and dance inappropriately for their age for all to see .

I agree, it's not porn, but it's still disgusting. Don't get me started on who to blame... parents, social media, declining morals...the list goes on.:dunno:

I do think that was part of the point of the movie maker. I'm not a fan of the approach but I don't think the movie is as notorious as some are making it out to be. It was actually those people who peeked my interest to watch the darn thing as I wanted to see if it was as bad as predicted.

Maïmouna Doucouré :The film is based on a traditional Senegalese Muslim girl who is caught and torn between two contrasting fortunes, traditional values and internet culture while also speaking about hypersexualization of preadolescent girls

Pretty much what I saw, but I did skip most of the dance numbers, and I've seen enough actual crap in real life that movies don't really upset me much. Well except what KK and JJ did to Star Wars.

I wouldn't know my teenage daughters don't dress or act/dance that way. They watched the movie and said it was disgusting the way these little kids were dancing and miming sex.

I saw enough to also think it's disgusting and no way for a little kid to act.

I dont think it's art or anything i just think it's gross and probably something some old pervert is going to jerk off to.
