BYO LP Jr Kit - When to set the neck?

I've lurked this forum for a while, and I am beginning my second build (assembly?), a Les Paul Jr kit from BYO. My first kit build was a bolt on neck.

I plan to grain fill the body and neck, dye them with cherry dye and finish with Tru Oil.

My question is this - When in the assembly process should I set the neck?

Should I do it first, then do the fill, dye and finish?

Should I fill and dye the neck and body separately, then set the neck and do the final Tru Oil finish on the assembled pieces?

Guidance and opinions are appreciated. This seems like a great place for the exchange of information.

JMO. Since all the parts are shaped already, and no other routing has to be done. Mounting the neck is the first step. Sand and finish it as a complete unit.

Thanks. Appreciate the help. Will try to document the assembly and post here as it progresses.

I don't know their kits that well but I look at it this way it is easier to measure where to set your bridge if the neck is 100% fitted and glued in place than it is if just clamped in place. If it is glued up you know neither the centerline nor the alignment will change.
