and lets not forget the great weed that trickles down from the great white north.
i think i'll have another bong hit of this monteal xpress

hey man, you'll have to plan a visit to the west coast. BC pot is, I think, their largest (and arguably greatest) export. We should be taxing it. :laugh2:

Holy crap. Reading that second article will raise your blood pressure. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. Good God what a flipping disaster.

From the WSJ article:

"Some localities are using a kitchen-sink strategy. "Our approach has been to list everything, because we don't know what the final guidelines will be or what the final dollar amount will be," says Greg MacLean, public-works director in Lincoln, Neb."

I think this is what we are really seeing here. The problem is there are no guidelines anywhere as to what qualifies a project to be one that would create jobs or not. We all have our own ideas for qualifications, but what do the law makers think? I believe they don't have a clue.

I agree, and they're in a hurry!

Here is a huge middle finger to Canada,Mexico and China!!!!! right now is when we need to buy goods made right here. we can be a self sufficient country but too many pussies get on their knees with this trade and immigration crap. go ask an unemployed carpenter how he feels about illegal immigrants. go ask a steel mill worker how he feels about canadian and chinese steel. why is it we have to support the whole fucking world? we need to get back to manufacturing our own goods. why should my tax money be spent on crap that won't make a difference? 20 million pledged to rebuild Gaza, for gods sake i wish Israel or someone would just nuke the whole place. you wanna stop the drugs from mexico, napalm the whole damn place. welfare doesn't work, stimulus is just the same old democrat spending strategy. and where the hell was canada and mexico with bailout money for the automakers? after all, the big 3 have just as many plants in their countries as they do ours. i'm so damn tired of MY tax money being spent to help every mother fucker in the world but me.

Not bad. I think many USA citizens are feeling the same way. The world is scared to death that we may slip into a semi-protectionist mode.

cause if we shut off the oil and gas, well, you are fucked.

Not a good idea. Right now, we're buying it. Shut it off, and we'll just take it. While I respect your military, we're only talking 60,000 or so members. The flag would be up by lunchtime.

....i wish canada and everyone else would shut it off, but include EVERYTHING!!!! we can keep the oil and gas we produce and drill for new sources. btw dwagar,no one really cares what the canucks think anyway, except for maybe a few lesbian rock fans. it's pretty commonly accepted that canadians are just jealous anyways. your govt is an even bigger joke and you guys can't decide if you wanna be french, canadian, english or just a haven for people that no country really wants anyways. your socialist healthcare system(or lack of) is in shambles and i've witnessed canadas military might on south park, i wasn't scared or impressed. i did almost laugh myself into a coma though.

I'm sorry, I refuse to buy something like a GM vehicle just because the big 3 are hurting.
The executives, unions and good old fashioned "it's american made" ignorance have caused a lot of this. When I see guys who take rubber mallets pounding on a car interior making more than I do because they have seniority or tenure, I think it's bullshit. We've rested on our laurels for a long time and the ignorance of the people of this country. The auto makers try to pay the unions as if they are curing cancer and in reality, they're manufacturing shite. The executives of these companies deserve whatever happens to them. They've raped their companies (and yes the environment with their products) and I have little sympathy. It is global economy. I am forced to be fiscally and environmentally responsible and now I will force those companies, through my purchasing power, to do the same. Perhaps we need to re-learn the fundamentals of fiscal responsibility before our situation improves. That includes credit use. If you don't make the money, you shouldn't own a house or a car just because it' s the "dream". Perhaps then, the real value of hardwork, innovation and responsibility will be known.
