I've got my Traditional dialed in for great tone from its Burstbucker I neck pickup; no worries there. My bridge BB II however is a bit f a challenge, especially on the high-e or 1st. string side. It seems it sounds a bit harsh to me. That 1st string side height is a tiny less than a nickel's width from the string when frettedat the last fret.

Has anyone with this particular Burstbucker successfully got that pickup set the way they prefer it?

I have Burstbucker Vs and have both the neck and bridge pickups quite low.. with the poles raised slightly...it’s all a matter of taste I think...no rights no wrongs

Every guitar/rig/amp/room/ear combination is unique. Just play around with a screwdriver making adjustments until it's as good as it can get for you.

Suggest lifting the string out of the saddle notch and put it on the flat top of the saddle as a test.

Could be saddle ping you're hearing...
