Let me know when you've got them made Rudi :fingersx: That one nearly costs more than all three of my builds combined :laugh2:

Pete, I have sent it to him.

Will get him to knock this up over the weekend re Font & Colour.

Do you know the actual size of this small leaflet?

Should be fairly straightforward.

Cheers, Rudi

I wonder why they said show instead of shop?

How do they know it will be sunny? Why not Mr or Mrs or Dear? Why do they spell colour wrong? This one raises a lot more questions than it does answers! :hmm: :D

Anyway the reason I don't have one is clearly because it is 1959 specific! :hmm:

:) Seriously that's cool! I've no idea on the size, maybe make them huge, like a big comedy cheque? :laugh2: I know I had one with my R8 case candy. They're bigger than a business card. Think Gibson put out repros with everything from the custom shop (even blonde 335s) from about 1999 to 2008.

Late 1960 burst:

I guess the real question is how do you tell a Gibson repro from the real thing? :hmm: ...and as for the auction I'm pretty sure they were widely used for everything red, well into SG production in the early 60s :dunno: It's like with all this stuff, maybe it was just chucked in by dealers at some stage. I don't know what's original to bursts and what's not, honestly.

OK, this confirms the size based on what I have at home, from what I can take measurements mate. :thumb:

Thanks.

I'm close to the paint stage on mine and your thread has been an inspiration. I'm using new reproduction stuff though (not as elaborate as yours).

What cavity covers did you use, (if you don't mind me asking)?

Mine are old Bartletts covers that I aged. I'm pretty sure Danelectro makes repros that will fit vintage: MojoAxe Custom Guitar Parts Otherwise you can make them?

Greco, what can I say that hasn't already been said about this stunning guitar? I said about your previous two builds that I didn't think they could have turned out any better, they were that good. Then you go and build this beauty.:applause:

Just saw your sig line for the first time Greco...that's HILARIOUS!!!

But I'd venture a guess to say that yours are slightly better than the original...

Google images. The two others are in this thread, aging just fine since you ask.

It's more than that Rudi. Apart from being complete lies, it just highlights the kind of narrow minded viewpoint and disregard for facts that goes on in the minds of some people, here and there. I don't want to have to deal with negative, hateful people like this. I've always had a passion for Les Pauls, that's all.

I'm tired of being the poster boy and the target for aggression, when there is a whole sub-forum of builders, plus big names who build replicas, most of them a lot more skilled and professional than me, and then a whole other sub-forum of guys who like to buy "other single-cuts". I can't help thinking the days of us being able to post stuff like this are numbered.

.........................au contraire Pete. :)

In a nanosecond, I can get a site up & running, hosted in a place that NO ONE can touch. :naughty:

All I need is an excuse to hit the Plan B button.

Cheers, Rudi
