He's the real deal. I love Brian. He knows many styles as well, but obviously has his forte.

I don't even like Rockabilly, and I could watch Brian all day. Wow!

I can't help with identifying the guitar, but I learned a lot from the clip. And he seems like someone who would sit right down and give you the lesson while sharing a cold one. That's cool.

I saw the Stray Cats on Saturday Night Live in the early 80's and I've been a fan of Brian Setzer ever since. Cool he mentioned Chet Atkins, too.

Nothin' wrong with Gretsch GAS. A White Falcon with TV Jones Classics is the most powerful guitar Ive ever heard. I'd take a Gretsch over a Gibson anyday.

It's called a Hot Rod. Just a hot rodded 6120 with a single master volume and pickup selector switch. No tone switches or separate volumes. Comes with TV Jones "designed" pups made especially for the Hot Rod, but can be ordered with true TV Jones classic filtertrons. It comes in about six colors, one of them a Lime Gold that'll knock your eyes out (in a good way). The one he's playing is flat black with a custom pin stripe job.

okay where exactly can you order that
i dont seem tho find it on the official gretsch pages!
they only have a regular version on there but that one hes playin in the vid seems to have all the Normal 6120 controls as oppsoed to the hot rod version you mentioned!

Wellllll, all I see is the master volume and the pickup switch. There's an extra hole near the switch because that's normally where pickup switches are with the mudswitch farther back. I can't recall exactly but it seems like that particular guitar was delivered to him with the switch in the front, and Brian has always moved his switch back where a mudswitch would always be located (on a regular 6120). Look at his other personal 6120s. There's an extra hole in the upper bout where he strips out the mudswitch. That particular Hot Rod also has supertrons in it instead of filtertrons. It's a 2000 or 2001 model, I think.

Here's the link for a Hot Rod on Gretsch's website.

Here's another one of his personalized Hot Rods. This is called his "Christmas Hot Rod" because it debuted on his Christmas performance a few years back. Green with red sperzel tuners. Notice the switch hole again.

Brian Setzer lives in Mpls now, my friend Brent is the engineer at Pachyderm Studios in Cannon Falls. Two years ago he engineered Brian's album he recorded there. Brent, Brian and I are all car freaks, and Brian had a couple gretsch's Painted to match his Hot rods in the garage. Very Cool guy.:slash:
