Already have the Gemtech for my H&K .45 ....but couldn't get a barrel at the time. I decided several years back to get supression for my 9mm, .45 and .223 ......you never know when you won't be able to buy. I went with the trinity system for my 9mm, so I could use it on a rifle as well. They are very quiet and practical for a long noisy day of shooting.

So, what are the practical applications of having a silencer on your gun?
I mean you're not assassinating anyone (I hope) and we all know they look cool, but why get one? Just to have one?

To lessen the noise that can damage your ears. Especially with enough guitar playing, this is a big thing. Not to mention it can change the center of balance favorably, it can make your weapon more accurate, decrease recoil, and trap the vapors fired by the gun, which is lead-laced.

I saw a show on the tube called Sons of Guns...it's about a gun shop in Baton Rouge called Red Jacket. They made a suppressor for a Sega 12 gauge that was pretty cool.

I have a .22 Hornet rifle...when I need to shoot something with a reduced bang, it's pretty darn quiet...much quieter than any other center fire rifle I've ever shot.

Yay for Baton Rouge!

Silencer is a pretty big misnomer too. Those stealth missions you see in the movies and on Call of Duty are pretty misleading. You still get a nice loud pop from the gun itself.

So they are a big help for shooting outdoors on your land if you don't wanna piss off the neighbors.
