Ps, for anyone who has bought one of these. How did they come straight from the factor, were they well set up and ready to play from the start? Thanks

Okay, so I just collected it there.
Very pleased so far, will give it a bigger play tonight. But so far it is great, so nice and light and the shiny newness is something good too.
Many years of joy with this one coming up and I'll post pictures up soon.

You lie! I said that same thing 40 guitars ago.
we'll see. No space left anyways for any new guitars so hopefully thats the end of GAS in the near future.
I might even trade in my cheap Yamaha dreadnought for a better one though.

Shoot... my FG710 sits right next to my D-35. ;)

Still enjoying the guitar a lot. It is an excellent guitar for solo stuff and pentatonic noodling. (the most fun aspect of guitar playing).Music like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Gary Moore and ACDC are brilliant to jam along too with the SG.
I've still only had 2 and a half hours playing time with it so there's a lot more to come from this guitar.

I tried out an Ebony SG Standard yesterday, secondhand from 2011, so has a thicker 50s type neck*. Can't justify adding it to my collection, so trying to decide if I can part with one of my other guitars so I can have the SG.

*I never used to like thicker neck as I have small hands (my GT is a 60s slim taper), but I put a '51 neck on a Tele partscaster this summer and got used to it. Now I like having a choice of different necks to play, so the SG and my GT would make a nice pair.

I do like the colour of yours too Coxon...just can't find one locally in that colour with the thicker neck.

Yeah, I was going to wait and see If I could score a used SG Standard, but it had to have a 50's thicker neck and to be in cherry red colour. I waited about 2 months and it never came up, so I decide to buy the new one for a little extra and it ticks all the right boxes. Only thing is that it comes with (a rather great) soft case. I got a Gator hard case free as part of a deal at guitarguitar.
I take it you are not in the UK?
