I had just gotten my Phaez amp and was home alone. I had been loud. When my kid, wife and my mother came in. Her mom had called mine and the two of them set her straight. She spent the night and this morning she needed to spend the weekend with her dad in CA. She left the kids and my mom and will be back on Sunday night.

Moms, don't you love them? She got in trouble and she is 41. My mom told me not to play my amp so loud in my house and I am 50 this month.

No matter how old you are, they never stop being your mother. I'm 43 and my mom was always asking me if I was paying my bills on time (not totally unreasonable considering the screw up I was when I was younger). That all stopped after the subject of credit ratings came up when I was having dinner with them one night and it turned out that my score is higher than either of my parents' scores.

Just accept it; they do it only because they love you and want you to be happy and safe.

I was so happy that she and my mother in law got my wife to see reason and come home. I gladly quit playing loud.

That's the one thing that I'm probably all "yes dear" on. I will be playing upstairs with the DeVille on 3 or 4 and when the staircase light starts flashing, I know she's home and I either turn it down or switch to the Line 6 with the headphones.

Good new. The only problem is that you won't ever be able to trust your wife to be there in good times and bad. Good luck to you and your kids.

Don't let your guard down--If she only came home because her mom told her to do so, you better start making financial arrangements-

Seperaate bank accounts are in order for a while-

Just a thought;

My wife didn't start menopause until we had our first 2 or 3 grands, she was in her late 40's. It was freakin' nuclear, man. I'd leave the room for a minute and come back to find a complete stranger sitting there, madder than hell at me for moving a picture or something. Or she'd be crying...sobbing like a lost child, because she hadn't seen one of the kids for a month. The emotional roller-coaster is just the tip of the menopause iceberg, but it's a big ol' jagged tip!

Now our daughter, at 38, has started. Our SIL is a know-it-all so he's on his own. I could help him, too! :shock:

Y'all may be a bit young for this to be a consideration...or not. But it's worth talking over with your MIL. SHE will know what kinda menopause your wife's gonna have, if anyone does. And, even if that's not your present situation, the more you know about it beforehand, the better prepared you'll be for the occasion. And trust me; you're gonna want to be prepared. :rolleyes:

Best of luck to you and your family.

No one else see's the problem? You can't play your amps so loud anymore :noway:

But seriously, it's good that she's back. It seems like it's a lot easier to have a serious talk in person.

Same here. When the wifey gets home, it's headphone city.

Gibby, make the best of this opportunity. There's two sides to every story. There are probably some things you can change to make her happier. We are all happy for you.
